Transitional Living Program

Do you need to continue to improve academic skills before transitioning to a college program?
Do you want to gain work experience to enhance your resume?
Do you aspire to live independently in the future, but need to increase your skills?

The Transitional Living Program (TLP) at the Illinois School for the Deaf is designed for deaf and hard of hearing young adults who desire to gain further preparation for their transition to the future. To be eligible to apply to enroll in TLP a student must have satisfied graduation requirements, but not have accepted his/her JR/SR High diploma. Once accepted, a student is eligible to participate in TLP until the day before their 22nd birthday. TLP focuses on enhancing academics, employment skills, independent living skills, volunteer experiences, and participation in a variety of presentations and fun activities.
